~The Art of Writing~

The art of writing has been the oldest form of communication in history that we have on record because it is in writing. From parchment paper to notebook paper, we have always had a need to write to report or write to express. Technology however has made this task ample times easier than it once was. The typewriter opened the world to a new way of producing literature, but it was limited. In order for a person to distribute multiple copies of their work they would have to write an original and recreate it over and over and over. Technology such as the computer has not only made the physical typing easier for us, but also to duplicate your work. However, with the use of the internet and computer in combination with each other the amount of duplications that you can send out has become endless. With the computer connected to the internet you can create a blog for free. As opposed to in the past where you would have to create your work and advertise for yourself. With the creation of the internet you can put your work out there making it possible for people to even stumble across it and become intrigued. The use of electronics for writing has become one of the most adapted to forms of communication since the telephone. From books to essays to manuscripts anything that needs to be written anymore is most likely done on a computer. The computer helps us not only organize thoughts, and then reorganize thoughts on the same page, but to also save them for later recollection, which is something that no tools for documentation could have ever done.

  1. You had said that “in the past you would have to create your work and advertise for yourself. With the creation of the internet you can put your work out there making it possible for people to even stumble across it and become intrigued.”

I couldn’t agree with you more. Jus the other day I was asking a friend who was majoring in journalism what they plan to do after college, like how will they get a job and get published? They told me that they are going to start a professional blog and go from there, because one of the best ways to get your work out there is by posting it on the internet.
